Mahesh Girkar is Vice President of Software Development in Oracle Database Division working on integrating emerging technologies within RDBMS. He manages the development of Advanced Queues, and Sagas, both of which are an integral component of the Oracle database. Database developers can use these offerings to build Event Streaming and Microservices based applications while leveraging traditional database features. Advanced Queues and Sagas support the vision of Oracle Converged Database – a database that has native support for all modern data types, analytics, and the latest development paradigms built in one product.

Mahesh also manages other development teams responsible for building features for High Availability offerings such as Oracle Data Guard and Oracle Blockchain Tables.

Mahesh joined Oracle in 1997 as a software engineer working in the database division. He has a B. Tech. in CS from I.I.T Mumbai and a Ph.D. in CS from University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
